I do have a favorite team. I've seen the Tigers in both of their most recent stadia, and there are, in fact, embarrassing tapes of me as a much younger child expressing my support for them.

Since I'm nowhere near the at the moment, though, so long as they're not playing Detroit, I can support the locals.

Five favorite authors?

And obligatory 'which would you rather fight, one horse-sized duck or 100 duck-sized horses?'

One hundred duck-size horses, definitely. Ducks are mean quackers, and I don't want a horse-sized one of them anywhere near me.

As for five favorite authors, I think that's Bill Watterson, Dana Simpson, Neil Gaiman, Ursula LeGuin, and Eve Forward.

This is true, and most of the advantage horses have is function of their body mass.

I have read some of those, but not others, which means they probably should go on my 'to-read' list.

Most of them, it turns out. There are some things, like pineapples, that I'm not all that fond of, but there's a lot of things I like to eat.

Frank Asch's Turtle Tale is the one I'm going to say, considering how much of a staple of my early literacy period it was, even if the actual truth is something else.

What pronouns do you prefer? (I thought I've seen hints in different directions in your posts, and obviously you don't have to say if you don't want to.)

I'm pretty comfortably settling on they/them/theirs, both in and out of work. I still get tactical advantage in my chosen discipline with he/him/his, so I might not do a whole lot of correcting in the work context until there's a lot more people who look like men in my particular area of librarianship.

What do you look/sound like in your head? (if you're comfortable saying)

I'd like to believe I have a nice baritone that can make me seem either warm or intimidating, depending on how I choose to shade it, and that when I talk, I at least seem like I have some wisdom.

Truthfully, though, I'm off pitch when I sing, so I probably actually sound flat, nasal, and not at all like someone who should be respected.

I don't think I've heard your voice, but I feel like in general a person can have a really warm/resonant/expressive voice and still not be able to sing on pitch.

Entirely. I think it's more of an illustration of how my perception isn't likely to match up with the reality.

Oh, entirely. Although I'm not sure I buy the "you can never hear what you really sound like" thing... I figure a decent recording is probably as good a representation as any.

Quite possibly. I can hear myself fairly regularly when I do announcements, and I still feel like I sound weird.

1.) Do you wear glasses? And if so, for how long, 2.) Do you know how to sew?, and 3.) How's the weather up there? :P

1) I don't, except sunglasses, and I very much like that I have sunglasses that are photochromic tint, so they get dark in the sun and light out of it.

2) I can stitch things together, but I don't feel like I know how to sew (as in use a machine and/or a needle and thread to create new things.)

3) It's cold, mostly.
