Sense, Nonsense, and Not-Sense

Good trope usage can make a piece memorable for a very long time. As can bad trope usage, witness MST3K. And a lot of trope usage these days is in giving them twists and inversions and I like having a full suite of possibilities at hand. I also tend to believe that knowing a trope doesn't necessarily detract from the enjoyment of the work, if the implementation is done well.
