Greetings! This is the Write Every Day Check-In Post for 21 November 02019.

I still don't have an overarching topic idea for December Days for this year. And that's coming very, very soon. Any suggestions? It's kind of an interesting challenge to think of something that I can do for thirty-one days exploring the permutations of. I've been trying to rack my brain for things to make that work, but I haven't come up with something yet.

In writing, I posted something new, deciding to go forward with the next installment of a particular series, especially when the sequel to it started to appear in my head and get a little bit written down as to who might be the viewpoint character for the next instance. I also went back to the backburnered project and added a little more to it. We're almost to the end of it, in the sense that the thing the main character has set out to do is about to be achieved. That doesn't necessarily mean there is only a little bit or wordsing left to do in the story. And if I finish that one, then songfic is the remaining big project to be worked on. (The others are smaller, but they'll be helpful.)

Also, since we're hurtling toward the end of November, now is the time to start calling for volunteers for December's Write Every Day posts. Would you like to close out the year with a daily post where we all get to come in and say hello and talk about what we've done? That would be wonderful.

But I don't want this story to be long enough to do anything with the question of "what does Chloé do with the thing Adrien just loudly implied to her, or with any of its quieter and/or less-certain implicit corollaries?"

Would that our stories behaved in such a way that they went where we wanted them to go.

Noveling happened for 360 words, jumping ahead in time and changing the tone a bit seemed to help. :)

It sounds like you've got several plates spinning but no danger of any of them wobbling, which is great! I hope the progress continues for you. :-)

On Day 21, I added 800 words to the third fest fic and finished it. I'll need to let it percolate a bit before the final edits (there was quite a bit of editing as I went) and posting to the collection. Then, it's the gaping emptiness...no, wait, I have two long projects, one in its third edits, which I've been avoiding with all this fanficcing. Lol!


I believe carenejeans has volunteered for December 2019.

Yay for finishing another work. And for, y'know, recognizing the other project that's asking for your attention.

I have a few plates spinning, yes, but they're going along smoothly, and most of them aren't on a deadline, so they don't have to get done immediately.

Day 21 - Wrote (most of? all of?) a poem, and some notes, and got through the workday reasonably well. So far have managed 100+ words every day for Mini-Wrimo!

Day 21: two sections of the draft edited for a net of 59 words, plus 1,127 words on the WIP.

December Days? I'm not sure I'm familiar with the challenge enough to help

Normally I'd say I'm unhappy with my measly 440 words but yesterday sucked so I'm taking them and running.

December Days is taking a topic and posting about that topic for each of the days of December. So long as the posts are related to the topic, they can cover any part of that topic. The "december days" tags in the journal can give you an idea of what sort of things might happen. It started with a three year-long journey going through a deck of Tarot cards, and then talking about other things on different years, like "things I should have learned in school (had I been paying attention)" or "noodling on writing and the process for 31 days."

Nov 21: threw out my story draft and started over. Mostly outlining and brainstorming, but I tried some opening lines on for size, too.

I wrote a few hundred words, and on something I'm *supposed* to be doing (i.e. getting paid to do) too. :D

Also, if nobody else steps up, I'd be willing to host next month. Seems like something I could do.
