Happy Feast, everyone. The day turned out mostly as planned, with food and companionship, although there was a break in the middle where I had to help someone assemble furniture and a few other things. More of that will be tomorrow, I'm guessing. The food worked out fine, and I was surprisingly right about when Feast actually happened today, because of all the competing demands for oven time.

Writing, because of all of this, really only had one thing happen during the day, and it was an idea regarding how to use selected tracks in Songfic #2 that I notated. So all of my writing for today has been responding to comments and putting together this post and another weekly roundup post. So there were words today, even if none of them were actual fic words. But we don't put a specific requirement of what kinds of words are used here, so we're still having written every day.

I managed to write in the morning rather than trying to cobble together words in the evening while half-asleep, and that worked. 475 words of novel on the 28th!

Day 29: Worked on time travel story #6.

Kudos for getting anything written at all on such a busy day!
866 words for me, wich was easy as it's been just a regular day for me, although I happened to do some time-consuming stock cooking to make room in my deep freezer.

Yummy stock is a good thing. And words, too, is excellent.

Darn, wrong word choice; I wasn't cooking stock as in broth, but food to freeze as stocks? This is one of the terms that I find difficult to use, for I'm not entirely sure when to use what regarding stockkeeping, as the translations of the terms I want often also seem to not really fit what I mean. I made a huge pot of Hungarian Goulash to use up my last bits of beef of last year, as the new beef is going to arrive tonight. My parents drive to a farm in the Black Forest every autumn to get a quarter of a yearling cow (term?) which has been born on the farm a year before that and lived on the pasture only, before going into direct marketing. The meat is offered already butchered and in bags ready to freeze, but you can't buy individual parts, but have to take an eight or a quart. We're taking a quart in the family and disperse it according to preference, which fits us quite well.

Oh, okay, stock as in reserves and not as soup base. Sorry for misunderstanding. The goulash sounds like an excellent thing as well.

Checking in for the 29th. No words appeared to me while crossing the highway - perhaps they were waiting for me in the stairwell at work, and I had an all day workshop in another building. I tried making the words come by continuing to organize and type up notes. It didn't work to bring new words, but it was productive nonetheless. I am closer to that probably-mythical day when I will have a full outline of what the fuck is going on and can just look at the outline and go "right, that bit hasn't been written, I shall try that bit for tonight". (Self-delusion is extremely important to my process, clearly.)
