And then provides us with some handy things to think about while we are contemplating where all of that went. So it's time to play the list game.

• What are your top five fandoms for 2021 based on the amount of time you interacted with them?

• What things did you create that took the most time?
  
  1. Both of the Fandom Trumps Hate thank you works took a long, long time.
  2. Snowflake and Sunshine entries take a lot of time if I'm feeling very long-winded, or have a tangent to roll off on
  3. A lot of my link gathering affairs take time to read through and feed my brain with, and then arrange them in such a way that makes logical order to me
  4. It's going on right now, and you wouldn't think that three sentences would take so long, but sometimes when you're trying to figure out how to make it work in the form, filling Three Sentence Ficathon prompts takes a while. Both individually and in total.
  5. It's not specifically fannish, in that it often involves dunking on something rather than praising it, but the weekly read-through definitely takes time to put together.

And, apropos of having seen Encanto this week, I'd totally put together a top 5 list of Disney women characters with girlfriends or wives, but, oh right, that haven't done any of that yet, despite having the best opportunity yet to finally go forth and do it. So, hope this was enlightening, instead.

I hadn't come across the Three Sentence Ficathon - I may have to go check it out, so thank you for highlighting that - I'm intrigued! *g*

There's a lot there, so it can seem overwhelming at the outset. But it's a lot of fun.

Owwww, yeah. That's been the hardest in recent years.

That's always been the hard part, and not just recently. I can't clone myself. But also, when those opportunities come, I feel like I might be a little bit easier to get into it because yay, someone who has the same fandom and might be interested in my corner of it!

Ooh, that's a good category of fannish contribution that hadn't occurred to me! I don't think it applies to me much this year, but I should keep it in mind for future years!

Curative fandom is still fandom, and some things need financial support to keep going, or something.

I feel like this is a huge part of the way I've withdrawn from fandom. I have Lisa, and our interests usually dovetail beautifully, so over the years we've twined them together more and more until we don't really hang out in fandom and I think we'd be hard-pressed to tug the braid apart and interact with fandom separately.

Sorry, that just popped into my head as a realisation when I read that point!

That's awesome. You've found the person that makes your fandom experience great and you're still together. If that's enough for you, why try to do more for the sake of someone else's loneliness?
