*purr of contentment*
Feb. 5th, 2005 01:21 amI got the drop on several of my sister's friends today - by being able to both scare them and impress them in the time I met them. The first was all the silly stuff through the window - the psycho grins, the matrix-esque shootings, the swordplay, all of that. That was scary, yet impressive. Beyond that, though, as we chatted, I managed to impress a few people with my tiny knowledge on things like religious events, alternate time universes, and the rules of Chrononauts. One of her friends is going to go buy that game, because he likes time travel.
And someone high up in the military finally admitted he truth - it's fun to shoot some people when you're in the military. As opposed to the RIAA, who subpoenaed a dead woman, and a guy who claims that he single-handedly stopped a gay agenda from being taught in a public school. Sounds like the guy who taught his asshole to talk. Or maybe he's just an asshole that taught itself to talk.
A Conservative (in Canada, unfortunately) give us his opinion on gay marriage. I say import him and let him take some power. I also heard that New York City could start giving licenses for civil unions. Can anyone confirm or deny these rumors?
I need a drink. No, no that stuff - pure as this guy's selling it as, I want something a bit different. Like the stuff they drink on Star Trek. You know, the good stuff. The stuff that they warn you not to have after giving blood (which I did today). The stuff you need after working on your own thesis for a while (which I also did today). Yeah, I need Winter Prog and its drinks. Well, the social atmosphere, too, probably moreso than the drinking, but the drinking helps, too.
I'm getting cynical and snarky in comments I leave to other people. Not about their entry - often I'm agreeing and then being verbally violent to whatever thing they're taking to task. It's probably a need for catharsis on my part, as well as a lot of those things just pissing me off. So I suppose I'm a liberal in many things, and with the way the Administration thinks, I wouldn't be surprised if liberal suddenly means terrorist. Go fly a kite in a thunderstorm, Mr. Bush and his Thought Police. The shock you get might be enlightening.
Unless, of course, you're using Tao Shielding (something I should think about taking up), and then we're pretty close to sunk.

And how can you make a good study of being silly... because I think I might want to try my hand at it.

Date: 2005-02-06 06:40 am (UTC)as far as how to study being silly, i couldn't say, it just sorta came to me... but i've been at it for 45 years now, and i found that it gets easier the more time passes. one thing i've found helps a lot, though, is a good fake degree. i personally use MSU, which stands for Makes Stuff Up... but you don't have to tell people that, if they don't already know.

Date: 2005-02-06 03:14 pm (UTC)I think studying silly things, in your case, doesn't need the fake degree. After all, you could have a real degree from MSU (Michigan State University) and always you'd be studying silly things. But that's just because I go to the rival school.

Date: 2005-02-06 06:20 pm (UTC)and as far as getting a real degree, then i'd have to study the silly things that "they" want me to study, instead of the silly things i want to study... and, honestly, i think the silly things i want to study are more relevant to the way i live my life... for example, michigan is a little out of my way...

Date: 2005-02-06 09:18 pm (UTC)And you're right - study your silly things, then trick them into giving you a degree for it (like I am) - it doesn't have to be Michigan... any other M state or country or would do, so long as it were M-S-U.
