To all the dads out there - cooooool. For the techno-geek father, I've stumbled across a case made of case fans. That'll keep your circuitry pretty cool. Although it might suck up a lot of juice doing so. For the father-that-just-won't-let-go, hand him a cup of Tradition and tell him to eat up. For you, or perhaps for your pops, depending on what he thinks about, follow another person through a "male" guided meditation experience (possibly NSFW, depending on the strictness of your policy.)

And... as much as it pains to admit that this is coming off an Ohio State server, the idea of One Free Minute is really, really, cool. As in "someone should build one of these things here" cool. As in "Every area should have something like this" cool. But given just one minute of uncensored, free, anonymous speech, what would you tell the world? (Or at least, the residents of Columbus, Ohio?) Perhaps some encouragement to the Ohio citizenry for trying to resist potential election fraud? Or something with a more metaphysical impact? Or maybe just a one-minute rant about George Bush. You decide. It's your minute.

I went and saw Howl's Moving Castle tonight. I thought some of JAMS might be there to help out and enjoy, but alas... there must have been last-minute problems. Or maybe they all wanted to stay and watch the Pistons lose in OT. Either way, it was a good film - admittedly, paying nearly $10 to see any film rankles me a bit. But this one could very well actually have been somewhat worth it. If you go see it, here's my advice: Things do work out, so if you're confused, you're just not far enough into the movie. As [livejournal.com profile] rain_luong put it - "Hayao Miyazaki's movies are for people who find their most elaborate dreams fascinating." So follow along and the dream will reveal to you all the things that you need to know. Supposedly, there's a book of the same name. I suspect I'll probably want to read it to see what might have been left out. In this case, there's not much in the way of hand-holding for plot direction, so pay attention, lest you become lost.

Still, go see the movie, yo! At matinee if you want to avoid paying full-tilt for it. There's some names in the voice casting, and all the parts are played out well - a refreshing change from some other dialogue I had to listen to recently.

So that's the stuff for me tonight - and I have work in the morning. D'oh.
