...yeah, so I've been away for the weekend. My Saturday was spent with [livejournal.com profile] uncle_pervy, [livejournal.com profile] neoboy3000, and a portion of JAMS at the JAFAX convention, where I scored the Escaflowne Movie Box Set for about half of retail. Boo-yah! I also got Negima! 6 and read it there. It's good stuff. Today, I sat at the console, and perhaps without fully intending to, I whipped the last of the Eight Phases. So now I have Data Flag for .hack, and there's only a couple things lift to do, namely go rescue Mia and fulfill the Item List quest. That is, if the Item List quest is even fulfillable. That'll be a lot of fun to do.

Beating on the boss had an appropriate backdrop, for as I was beginning the engagement, a thunderstorm broke with lots of nice lightning flashes and downpours. So not only am I away from a save point and taking it to the last boss, but I also have to wonder whether I'm going to have power enough to finish the engagement. Which I did. But there's nothing like a little extra panic to put you in your place, yes?

So what's been going on while I've been away? Got some superhero supplies delivered.

And also became aware of Grover's off-camera life when he was doing Sesame Street. It's a good read. Very funny. In somewhat the same vein, you should stop by Le Building (v) for a bit.

There's also the bit about the guy who's using an age-old tactic - but with a bit of a twist. Reward the earth and get rewarded. And such. (May not pass all work filters)

There are talks with the insurgents going on, but according to Rummy, it's the interim government and the insurgents talking and the U.S. is just facilitating. Hey, they have a stake in it too. Can't get the oil pipelines flowing at the right output if you're worried they'll get blasted. Although his predictions may be a bit premature, and the Los Angeles Times called him on it. Does that say something about the state of collapse that the Untied States is in at the moment? At least they took the coverings off of Justice. We'll see whether that had more than just symbolic value in the years to come.
