...but no guarantees, you know.

This bulletin jumps to the front of the blog entry, with an assist credited to [livejournal.com profile] lordmork: Bill C-38, a measure designed to legalise same-sex marriages, has passed the lower parliament house of Canada. Mork's confident that the bill will pass the senate house, and then Canada will be the third country to legalise same-sex marriages. Our congratulations to our neighbor up north, and to the MPs who crafted and voted affirmatively for this measure.

Returning to the blog entry, perhaps assisted by the news above, put yourself in the right frame of mind to start by viewing this story of innocence and unfettered childhood. What? You say you've forgotten it? For shame. While it's not the worst mistake in the world, it's certainly not helping your case.

So you say you need a bluff, then? Well, here's a guide to bluffing about economic systems that will probably be sufficient to deter some pursuers. Hmm? You meant a different kind of bluff? Something that you might be able to use in case the Supreme Court makes some pretty boneheaded rulings or restricts your ability to exercise Constitutional rights on your blog and/or elsewhere? (For examples, see the facts that reporters cannot protect the identity of their sources from the government, restraining orders provide no impetus for local governments to protect those under them, as well as Peer-to-peer software creators can be held liable if their users infringe copyright. We'll get back to this one later.)

Well, here's a bluff guide to blogging that will probably be of use: The EFF Legal Guide for Bloggers. Some good stuff in there, from the sampling I took (the IP section), and the EFF has been on top of things when it comes to accurate information, so I suspect that it's all top-quality material.

As things turn out, AMD and Intel are done with the kid gloves. AMD is suing Intel for antitrust violations. Read the CEO's letter, and if you're up to the challenge, then wade through the full complaint.

Moving onward (we've left childlike innocence far behind, if you've noticed), we find out that God's not happy about "sorting 'em out". And if the treatment that appears to have created zombie canines perfects itself for humans, it's only going to make his job much tougher.

At the apex of our adult experience, we have a rather interesting way of looking at the world: What if Playboy is to men what Martha Stewart's Living is to women? Vinnie_Tesla has drawn that connection, and makes a pretty convincing case for it: that both sell a lifestyle, just that they have different ways of going about it.

But, lest we get too far into the adult realm, with all it's greyfaced problems, I've just been handed a memo. You should read it as well. Don't be a sheep, go shearing! There's plenty of artistic things you can do with the wool you'll get... or the sheep you're carving from.

Last thing - I bit the bullet and uploaded another drawing. It's probably pretty bad. Better to take criticism, though, than to hide, like I did with some other drawings of mine. It's in the usual spot. See if you can spot the newcomer.
