Right, then.
Sep. 28th, 2005 11:20 pmWas social tonight. Must also slightly curse my tastes in attractedness to persons, for they are almost always persons who are attached to someone else. But only slightly. I feel like I've been more social in this first month of graduate school than I was in much of my undergraduate, so that is a positive thing.
Adverts from the Ministry of Silly Things: Prove your manliness! Play a game of Conkers! Divine using sneezes!
Actual content? Me? Right. Well, there's been some stuff that's been circulating about, like pictures of giant squids and a different ten reasons to have kids, and stuff like Tom DeLay getting an indictment (IF USER="LIBERAL", then: "play_sound_cheer") on possible campaign finance practices. (It's Frist who might be up for insider trading. Thanks,
uncle_pervy.) Could be a ruse to get people off the Court nomination. Could be the start of something that shakes up the governmental foundations. Could be neither.
And tomorrow, I go do other tasks as needed. There are still plenty of other things to do that I could be getting a head start on. That part, in its entirety, sucks. Finish one assignment, start on the next. But it's not due until next week, luckily, so there's some breathing room. (My days seem to have compressed, though - maybe I'm thinking some things will take longer than they actually do)

*plays cheer @ Tom DeLay's Ass
Date: 2005-09-29 07:33 am (UTC)DeLay's problem is that he allegedly broke Texas Law that stated donations to Political Action Committees from corporations can ONLY be used for adminstrative purposes of the PAC, not to be used in any actual campaigning for or against candidates. The records shown to the Grand Jury gave evidence that money to DeLay's PAC was sent to the RNC treasury, then sent back to the PAC earmarked as money from the RNC and available for use in campaigning for or against candidates.
All the same, I find it funny as hell that when DeLay was questioned, the things out of his mouth was that the Texas DA who's indicted him with the Grand Jury is a "Democrat Zealot" and is on a vendetta against the Republican Party. Mind you the DA has gone after many Democrats in his tenure as DA. At least in the meantime, Rep. DeLay has to step down from his position as House Majority Leader because if he gets convicted he could face between .5-2 years in Texas Pound-Me-In-The-Ass Prison and a 10K fine.
Here's to hoping the Jury gets him.
As for your time out among the masses: Good job hanging in there and don't worry. Try enough and you'll get a bird that'll be willing to "Show her Bristols" and be with ya. (It's amazing what you can get away with by using British Slang instead of American ;) )

Date: 2005-09-29 12:06 pm (UTC)Fixed on the data, I got the two cris-crossed. And that DeLay goes straight to "witch-hunt" is a pretty big sign that he's hiding something...
As for other things, well, I'm trying.
