That's some interesting stuff we have...
Sep. 29th, 2005 11:25 pmThe internet is a strange, strange place. Where one can learn about inflatable pubs right next to bisexual penguins. Where activists targeting nurseries can be next to The Periodic Table of Condiments That Go Bad. It's a place where domestic partner benefits are protected (at least for now) between homosexuals and the feds go after "deviant" pron. It's a strange place, where you find offerings that The FCC is restricting communication next to one of the more convoluted communication methods, RPS-25.
And then there's just things like demonstrations of how to use the furniture. What this all boils down to, though, is that normal may be considered diseased. Here, or elsewhere. Maybe I need to go get my DEA Druggie Badge.
Today was relatively uneventful. Although even with the cough medicine, the cough remains. I think I'll run out the medication. If it sticks around, I'll go back for something different. Allopathy can be like that. Things have turned somewhat colder, in that I'm using my jacket and longer pants again. Soon there will be wardrobe change. (Which is nothing like "regime change" because: a) it works like it's supposed to, and b) generally speaking, the things that would be the insurgency quite happily retreat and bide their time. It's more like a political election than a military coup.) Tomorrow I get to sit in and listen to people discussing budgetary matters for a student group, since I've been tapped as a treasurer. Beyond that, there's a field hockey game, and hopefully I can get the last few answers to the assignment due on Tuesday. All things considered, I'm actually in pretty good shape. The panic level is down at the moment. It might start going back up eventually, but in the downtime, it never hurts to get a lead on some other things. There are some things that will still take a while to fully comprehend, but that I can start thinking about now. There are possibly some things that I could think about starting on now, if I really wanted to. Actually, looking at the big scary list of due dates, sooner rather than later might be a very good idea, indeed. Even so, I have a month between dropping off topic statements and the second set of "nuisance" assignments, and another month after that (or so) to finish the really Big Freaking Papers and Projects. That time will spin by quickly, but there's no need for panic. Yet.
(Also, forgive my fixation on my schooling. For I have not other things to distract me, like video games, or television series, or significant others, all of which, excepting, perhaps, the television, would be very useful things to have. Each of them, however, in their proper time. And speaking thereof, I'll put a nightcap on this entry and head off to bed.

Well, you've got to hang out in the right places, get freinds to send you games and stuff. Maybe we should do a research study to find you a girl to hang out with on a regular basis. Treat it like another project.

Date: 2005-09-30 01:14 pm (UTC)As for games, well, I'd play more, but I don't have the console here that I would use to play the games. Somehow, though, I don't think a research project, other than actually going out and metting people, is going to help me in terms of finding someone to hang out with.

Date: 2005-09-30 01:16 pm (UTC)You research some girls and find out what they like and stuff. Follow them around, investigate their rooms when they're not home. Okay, so in some states they call that stalking, but it's a start.
