And that's a week's end
Jan. 14th, 2006 01:13 amKids these days are pretty bright. Too bad some of them will get caught up in stupid things later in their lives.
Good news for
uncle_pervy, though - our resident artist may, indeed, be able to make you that which you desire. However, there must be a negotiation of funds transfer at some point for this deal to go through. Tell me in private communique what you have to work with, and I'll see what I can negotiate.
Today, I had a bit of a craving for this particular song, and so I've been listening to it for a bit now - not sure why I like this one so much - maybe because it's the odd one out of the Eight Phases themes? It still has the requisite part that strings them all together, but maybe because it's based on [SPOILER] it takes on a different caliber of things. I guess I like the percussion pattern to this one better than the other Eight Phases, It's a much more relaxed, I'd almost say backbeat-heavy sort of piece (even though I'm talking completely out of my arse when I say that - I have no idea whether it's true or not.) rather than the driving techno-style of the other Seven Phases. Coursework was okay - I got to test out the Dark Chocolate M+Ms (approve muchly) as well as learn a little more about sorting methods. This semester I'm definitely learning a lot, much of it interesting material that I'm not entirely sure I know how to make applications of yet. But I can see the seeds of it already. If I wait a few weeks, it'll become apparent. At least, it'd better, because I have midterms to worry about for those. (Hehe.)
Also, today was a good day because I got a package of cookies from
2dlife along with a VEWPRF card. Beyond that, I played a game with someone (she's asked for a rematch - apparently, she wasn't playing at full force - and since this assignment is about strategy and heuristics and such, we both need to be playing at full power), and will play more later (better data for paper - the figures might stay the same, but I might also have to change some paragraphs because of her strategy adoption). I also found out how easy it is to toss off a two-page double-spaced paper now. I renewed my acquaintance with algebra as well, and found that I haven't forgotten as much as I thought, but probably more than I should. Oh, well. The math's not going to be particularly hard, just has to be applied in the right ways. At least now I understand why one of my classes is fusing a psych textbook with an econ textbook - the class is about decision-making, and so those two are actually pretty complementary.
Anyway, should go off to bed now - early day tomorrow if I want to get everything accomplished that I need to. Although that may permit a very large amount of leisure time, unless I get driven and start wanting to read again for fear of goofing off too much (I still need to recalibrate that a tad - I'm better now, because I don't have a giant list of Things To Do, but I still can't shake off the pressure to do my work completely. Maybe tomorrow I'll finish up data gathering and start writing some of the other papers instead. Since they're due in a couple weeks, I could write some preliminary stuff on them and not feel like I'm doing too much. Might want to do a lot of work on the front side as I can, so that I can watch Olympics later... now that's inspiration.
