Hmm. That doesn't quite work, does it. However, it could very well be lots of random subject lines... anyway, to get the third angle of the saga between [livejournal.com profile] welah,[livejournal.com profile] getsource, and myself, I'm the low man on the totem pole here. All I'm doing is putting up cash to get a new motherboard, faster processor, and some RAM. That will likely set me back a good chunk of change, so much that my summer spending plan might be toast before it even started. But I'll end up with a 1.8 GHz (pronounced GuhHertz) processor, which is really spiffy. The thing is, my 1.3 GHz processor does well at the moment... so I'm basically upgrading for upgrading's sake, and that's kinda why I'm a bit reluctant regarding the whole endeavor. But, we know that [livejournal.com profile] getsource really needs this upgrade so that his NLE card will be happier, so that he can do Work.

Speaking of, I do have some today. I get to play with a power washing machine for a bit. I think that'll be kinda kool. But that means prep work today and priming/painting tomorrow from the looks of things. Just 2.5 weeks work to go or so... and the big house that was going to be our finisher, well, it fell through (kinda like a lot of stuff this summer) and that probably triggered the boss's mood yesterday. So we're going to do some chatting with the people Upstairs and see whether or not they have a kind disposition towards us (some would think with all the insanity we've had that those people upstairs are not real fond of us, but I'd still disagree with them. This is the most fun I've had and still made money off it.)

Anyway, got to be on-site in about an hour, so I've got to get stuff like lunch and proper work attire all in order. Another update from the trenches is likely when I get back from work. No worries, really, as I hope that I can make it through everything without having to rely too heavily on money not of my own making...

...now that's more like it! That makes sense. Hopefully the link in the title will work, too. If not, it's here. Anyway, the key to that whole endeavor is that I'm done with work, and although I didn't power wash per se, I did get to know what it was like to have it happen. Plus, I put to use something I learned from my dad (even though I was trying very hard not to pay attention to any of his stuff...) about choke and gas when starting a motor... he'd be proud, I think. This comes after having also used knowledge from my mother about getting ink out of clothing (hairspray works wonders), and something else that I can't remember at the moment, but was equally "obscure". It's unfortunate, but all that stuff they were teaching me, I learned, whether I wanted to or not. It's a very frightening thing, for I fear it means that I might be turning into an adult...

...whaddya mean that's a good thing? I'm still trying to stay a college student. I can be an adult after that sort of stuff.
