...it's the end of June, the Tigers are only 4 1/2 games out of first place in their division, they're riding a six-game winning streak, and until today, they'd hit bottom-of-the-ninth inning home runs three times in a row. This is odd.

Work was merrily interesting today. Kept me busy for most of it, anyway. Got to file a request from someone who was spraying a paper towel with glass cleaner and using it to clean their keyboard. I'm not sure if it works, but the keyboard doesn't anymore. Plus, I got a good laugh out of reading [livejournal.com profile] tsutsujigirl's entry about having lunch with the younger kids. Well, not the lunch part, but the little vignette afterwards. I could laugh too hard about it, but it stuck in my head for a good part of the day.

I got to talk to E, someone from a class back when I was taking a freshman philosophy seminar. She's a teaching student now, and since I work in the School of Education Building, I get to see her occasionally. She remembers me well enough, even though we didn't see each other very frequently from the end of that seminar. I'll probably see her again next Wednesday, since she has to return her materials on that day. Although, since I work the morning shift, she might see me, she might not.

So my birthday is this Sunday (Eris only knows why I had the good chaos to be born on the fourth of July. It's the only holiday in the summer, and I got hit with it.) and it'll be twenty and one. The roommates are still plotting my demise. Or something like that. But I'll leave that to them, because I don't really want to know.

I'm going to do some officiating for our intramural softball league. Doesn't pay much, but it'll give me enough so that I can put all of my other paycheck towards the rest of my expenses. And that's the point of the whole thing.

So welcome to July, everyone. Enjoy yourselves.

Oh, yeah. That pot thing? Never tried it. Been around it while it was being smoked, but didn't actually take a hit myself. But that stat is suspect. The disco one that [livejournal.com profile] welah had is probably more accurate.

...nothing. Really.

So I took one of the practice tests on my GRE preparation software. I'm sincerely hoping that the numbers I got back from that one are the numbers I get on the real thing, because those will do just fine. Although my fear of this test is definitely well-founded.

Time to bombard you with things that other people are writing, thinking, and doing! (I'm such a groupie, ya know?) First, I present:

What I felt like during the job hunt. Very little exaggeration.

To counteract the depression that something like that can bring on, I present The 'Like' Globe Useable when you just need someone to say "I like you."

Now that you're properly happy, I'll tell you this:

You are an SECF--Sober Emotional Constructive Follower. This makes you a hippie. You are passionate about your causes and steadfast in your commitments. Once you've made up your mind, no one can convince you otherwise. Your politics are left-leaning, and your lifestyle choices decidedly temperate and chaste.

You do tremendous work when focused, but usually you operate somewhat distracted. You blow hot and cold, and while you normally endeavor on the side of goodness and truth, you have a massive mean streak which is not to be taken lightly. You don't get mad, you get even.

Please don't get even with this web site.

I'd be laughing, if I wasn't pretty sure that this is true. Those who know me better can confirm or deny. Although that means I probably have a lot of work to do on my personality.

Cliques: Three of size eleven. Mostly the same bunch, ringed around the CRFH universe. Makes sense to me.

Thus, having successfully fought off silliness, you turn your attention to the serious thing, something possibly worth contemplation ('S an old entry, but still interesting) How someone views 'God'. Very interesting take on things, and useful to those trying to find an anchor point.

Still awaiting that thing that [livejournal.com profile] welah said he was constructing about believing. Want to see what he's come up with, I do.

And one other thing. Birthday in three days. Err, soon to be two. Yeah, it's narcissistic, but hey, it's the last one I get to celebrate and be happy about for a while.

Work-work, come morning time, and thus off to bed we go! Prophetic dreams, everyone!
