You see, once upon a time there was this kid. He was a bright kid, or at least, that's what all his tests kept saying. But you see, this kid had a problem with himself. He wasn't really sure of anything, and although he had a bunch of possibilities, he wasn't really ready to commit to anything. Then, this kid gave someone else who was having insecurities about herself some advice. She was worried about being a hypocrite because she might not be in strict accordance with what a Church thought, and he, as well as another Pope (for you see, this kid was a Pope, but since everyone's a Pope, it's not that important) told her that she just needed to do what she thought was right, and to tell that Church, and some people who thought the same way, to go boink themselves.

Ready for the punchline? The kid, after giving that advice (which resembled the advice of the other Pope, but he was just slower in posting it), realized a very dangerous thing.

He actually believed the advice that he had given. This came as a shock to the kid, who proceeded to laugh himself silly for at least a minute over this revelation. He still chuckles about it even now. Perhaps the kid has finally found his Ultimate Truth. Perhaps not - but either way, he got a good laugh out of it, and so he considers it another step along the way to Enlightenment by Laughter, his self-professed Philosophy.

And Eris smiled upon the kid and said gently, "Goofball. Why did it take you so long?"

And that's the beginning of that particular tale. In absolutely unrelated matters, Dodge Trucks are for Girly Men?, The War on Drugs may be growing larger every year, and...

...blatant plagiarism from [livejournal.com profile] welah (even though the answers are changed, the idea is wholly stolen from him, who stole it from someone else...)

So, how does your poor sucker stack up against his gender stereotypes? Well...

    Conforms:

  • Special effects are definitely a good thing for me. So bring on the pyrotechnics and explosions.
  • Will fiddle with something broken at least once (so long as there's no threat to my life) before asking someone who knows how to fix it. Twice if electronic.
  • Enjoys sports. Both playing and watching.
  • Cannot tell shades of color apart - better than just primaries, but "light" and "dark" are generally the only modifiers I use.
  • Two left feet. And not very willing to dace in the first place.
  • Swords and swordsmen are cool...
  • Probably a fanboy - even though I try to be civilized.
  • If near a destination, less likely to ask for directions.
  • Absolute zero on the clue-dar when it comes to women. In my particular manifestation, it means that I have friends who are females, just that I have no idea if any of them are hitting on me.

    Deviations:

  • Can watch a chick flick as easily as an action movie - cries during sappy parts of movies. Emotionally sensitive in general.
  • Prefers to take in the whole of the female form, not just certain parts. Does actually factor in personality.
  • Can follow cooking directions, and modify after getting a feel for the dish.
  • Likes all sorts of sports, men’s or women’s. Can refer to football or soccer as football with equal ease.
  • Cats. Love 'em.
  • Will shop easily. Will, however, stay out of clothes stores unless there's something that attracts me in.
  • Does ask for directions. Will tend to lose them, however.
  • No interest in being muscular or super-strong. Is content to be the silent type.
  • Not real hot on plotless action movies, war or otherwise.

If you've read down this far (or skipped to the bottom), then you get to know that I'll be wandering around the Art Fair for a while, but then standing around at the Art Fair for a longer while than that, as I have signed up to promote the Marching Band tomorrow. And since I just finished Foundation's Edge, I may just have to start in on some other book laying around. That, and I wrestled a bit with my machine today since it wanted to lock up a bit on me. Makes me wonder if the thing's slowly dying on me. Should probably start testing things to see whether they're up to snuff or not. Have no idea how to do so, though.

Work beckons tomorrow - by then end of it, I'll probably be dead-tired. Or perhaps merely dead. Only one way to find out - and that's to go to bed!
