...and go, I did! Even better, although giving up four runs, the home team scored six and held on to win. Whoo! And strangely enough, since I was going there with a bunch of IM officials, there were a couple situations that had been talked about in the training session, like overthrows going out of play and the ground rule double that lands fair, bounces foul and then out of play without being touched. It was rather funny, I must admit.

Very much like the door that goes nowhere - it's even at my university. I find it funny, especially with the modifications.

Just in case you were wondering, sometimes the "message in a bottle trick" actually works.

There's some other stuff that I see around, not always as funny but sometimes just as thought-provoking. Such as the military being exposed to a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation in their ranks, as well as a strong justification as to why the current actions of the government are illegal, and making the right call out of the court-martial. Maybe I should stop looking for the flying chartreuse hippos... they might not yet be around.

The tsunami dumped some interesting things on the coast of India. Like revealing where an old Dravidian temple complex may have sat, possibly the oldest in the world. When coupled with a statue of a Japanese Buddhist sage, you can say that the tsunami left some gifts behind. Perhaps as an apology for the destruction being caused?

The big thing tonight - and probably on several blogs around the LJ universe, is a poignant commentary on the reasons why blow jobs are an impeachable offense, but pre-emptive strikes and the "war on terror" isn't. (From [livejournal.com profile] wicked_wish) It does a good job of explaining the mindset of what may be Bush's most powerful base of voting strength. The matter may be moot, especially since at the moment, the Republicans control the legislative body that would have to start the proceedings. If the Democrats are able to strike back and regain control of the Congress, we might see impeachment proceedings. That will depend on what else comes to light about the Administration's doings, and whether or not something like the PATRIOT Act will effectively silence the ability of anyone to gather sufficient evidence to make a case for an impeachment.

Leaving aside whether or not either president's allegations were worthy of an impeachment, she does provide a look inside the potential thought processes of Mr. Bush's staunchest supporters. If nothing else, read it with that in mind and see what you get.

Am also weighing whether or not to put up a Friends-Only post on a semi-sensitive subject. On the one hand, the possibility of it being seen, and any repercussions from that is balanced against the design of this space to be a free and open discussion of my thoughts and others. So it's my fear of being found out weighed against my ideal of "Damn the torpedoes, ahead flank speed!" Will make a decision about that in the morning. Have work tomorrow, so can't stay up too late agonizing. Suggestions on how to resolve the question will be appreciated.
