sharpsight, that I didn't talk to you today - my idle-to-away message didn't kick in properly, I guess. I was out doing referee work when you rang.
Knowledge was accumulated at an impressive speed, although there's not necessarily any application for it. But the knowledge itself is valuable. I feel like I'm learning about lots of things only peripherally related to the things that are being talked about. But they're important, too. (Sorry for the vaguery, but it's hard to pinpoint all the stuff that I'm picking up on that isn't said.)
This cheerleader gets my respect, because she does what marching band people are trained to do - finish the routine, even when injured. After that, you can get help. But you finish the show first if you can.
One my more standard offerings, Vermont towns took a vote of their citizens and they voted to impeach the President. Now THAT's having tanuki-sized testicles.
In Washington, curiously enough, G.W. took a page out of Clinton's handbook and asked for the power to line-item veto. What's going on here? Does it have anything to do with the cutting of funding to help disabled children? (Probably not.)
If the premise behind the following article is true, we're all beyond screwed so long as things continue the way they are. The premise: corporations cannot be anything but evil. This doesn't equate them with being Satan, however much we might like to think Wal-Mart is such.

Even if every single person in the U.S. violently disagreed with the president and felt that he wasn't representing them, that still wouldn't be grounds for impeachment...? Hmm.)
Do documented cases of marching band members exhibiting similar behavior exist?

Date: 2006-03-09 09:34 pm (UTC)Documented cases? Maybe. Anecdotally, I know of several sprains, missed throws, bad pass-throughs, and the like that produce those sorts of problems. In my own experience, when I broke the fingers that I had, I still (out of necessity, really - the band director would have sacked me if he could have) marched and played the show as best I could. I then did the final audition with a cast on my hand - enough there to be able to play, though.
