Stuff, stuff, stuff.
Mar. 27th, 2006 12:34 amJust needed to get the accumulated stuff away.
The Christian Convert walks free - the judge says there are holes in the case. That the case was brought at all is significant but not surprising. One could easily suggest that similar cases appear in this country as well, regardless of whether the defendant converted to the Church of the SubGenius or just to some other non-Christian religion. While it may not be criminal trials, I wonder about things like divorces and child custody cases - do those things play a factor? Quite possibly. Perhaps even more so if the defendant is an atheist - a University of Minnesota study indicates that athesists are the most distrusted minority in the U.S. That's not completely surprising, but it is a bit disturbing.
Needing some workplace downtime? Or maybe just a quick something to startle you out of the humdrum of your workplace? Try the Bureau of Workplace Interruptions. If you utilize their services, let me know how it happens. I'm thinking about using them myself. On the other hand, multitasking is not such a good thing, necessarily - so free money and sex if you read this now. Pay no attention to the man who left his son in the car while he went into a strip club. Well, maybe only enough to wonder what he was thinking. Of course, it might be that the vice squad starts to get you before you even get the vice - Texas is arresting the drunks in the bars before they leave.
Star Trek IV may not be so sci-fi anymore - some researchers are convinced that whale has syntax. (Sorry if that spoils anything.) Interesting - maybe we can start piecing together how to talk to the other species. Hopefully we can do so before the first message we see is "So long and thanks for all the fish". Okay, it's time for me to go to bed, as I have to get up, make myself slightly marketable, and go present myself and my resumes tomorrow. And that'll be hopefully good - I could use as many options as possible, so that the chances of one of them turning up to be useful and then actually taking me on goes up.
