It's that time already?
Oct. 10th, 2006 11:56 pmWow. I got a lot done today, in managing to squeeze my readings and a field hockey game in with the rest of what I did today. Tomorrow will probably mean more work as I sit down to start composing projects and other such insanities. And possibly start building the things, too. After all, I have to document my processes and thoughts, too. Oh, yes, and I should probably consult some books, too, for the regular assignment. I think this is the part where I start drowning because I don't have a firm grasp on anything yet and want to panic. That should go away once I raid for some sources. I do this all the time, anyway - feel like I'm floundering about until I lay it out in front of myself or someone else, and they say "Well, write it on this. You've got all the stuff there." And I say, "Oh. You're right. Thanks." and set to the work. So yeah. I'm not worried, I'm just getting the "Do stuff!" itch.
Linkwise, echoing the sentiment of the world, even without an independent confirmation that North Korea did do a nuke test, the U.S. is calling for stringent sanctions against North Korea. At the same time, the U.S. is also taking a significantly more "mine!" stance on space. On the home front, Hastert's pet committee is investigating Foley.
If you want to have a look, here's a list of Presidential Signing Statements. Some are available on the White House site, too, and in the Federal Register, if you want to use the Government's own access portals to find those objects. Most should be available. If there are deleted ones in the official sources, though, finding a list like this can be great.
An interesting look at the way the current situation has developed. This author claims that advertising and mass media are turning us all into fascists. Or at least into people who consume so much that we're in the red in terms of resources plundered compared to what the planet can renew.
A game to play, when out in nature and needing something simple - poohsticks. If you want to amuse yourself, take a look at old superstitions.
This is how I date. Although I don't necessarily have as many interesting topics or choices as Llewellyn, that's probably how I would date - so it may be a matter of finding the proper Ms. Mudd.
Anyway, significant projects on the horizons and all that. Just need regular reminders that I am actually making progress on these things.
