Helped a hosuemate celebrate 21 years tonight. I didn't have too much to drink, but there was much laughter and merriment. Might be able to get along, after all - assuming the router holds up under duress. It was signing on and off all day today, and that really cheesed me off - mostly because you can't really get anything good for conversation when every 15 minutes, you sign out and have to wait for a re-cycling.

[livejournal.com profile] amenquohi shows us the Liberal Agenda as seen by the American Family Association. To which our response is, "If the liberals get in office and do these things, we'll probably cheer for them in the streets." Or, as [livejournal.com profile] greyweirdo puts it, "Please?"

Skeptic's Circle #45 is up. It's always worth a read.

A new 'oldest civilization' may have been found. If it's there and it meets all the right criteria, then archaeological theories may need revision.

All the rest of these links go small, staring with Baby Bang experimentation (it could destroy the planet, but the odds are slim), nanoparticle sensors and nanoparticle assembly (although I'm not sure at all what the real specifics on these things are.

The things that are getting smaller, though, that shouldn't, are vacations. In The Incredible Shrinking Vacation, Victor Rozek points out that really, what Americans probably need to like their work is to be able to take more time off from it. That might also inspire people to start doing the things that everyone knows should be fixed, but nobody seems to want to get the ball rolling on.

Last, some improvement things for our lives. 10 techniques to get more comments on your blog. Should probably return to these later. In any case, you should know, reading populace, that I always welcome commentary from you. It serves multiple purposes, such as correcting my errors, both grammatical and factual, it provides new points of view to look at, and it reinforces the idea that I'm not just posting to a void. So please, do comment.
