...today I turned in the sheet to be processed to make me a Medieval and Early Modern Studies concentrator. Which means that I have taken on the thing that I most dread: a thesis. But it may turn out to be not that scary. We'll see next year.

I was happy today. Apparently, people were scribbling positive messages in chalk on the sidewalks as a promotion to Do Random Acts of Kindness. I like the concept, if nothing else, and the messages (some with artwork) were very cute. It made me smile, something I haven't been doing enough of lately. This is, of course, counterbalanced by the fact that I will have three papers due in five days. C'est la vie, I suppose. But then again, I think I knew this when I signed on for it, so there's not much in the way of complaining I can do. I did decide to go here, after all.

I wonder how welah and torakiyoshi are doing. It's been a while since they left, and I haven't gotten any updates from either of them. Or at least, they haven't done anything to taunt me about how well things are going there, while I suffer here. The weather, of course, is still unpredictable.

As are other situations. Chaos seems to be the word of my existence. As a part-time Discordian, (no student that doesn't have a scholarship and a very good reason not to be given the boot is a full-time Discordian) chaos in small doses works well to make sure things don't get boring. It's the chaos in big doses that I'm getting right now, and it's making things a bit difficult. Even a good game of 1000 Blank White Cards won't work too well here.

And as the parting shot of tonight, you get A buncha "therapists" claim they can 'cure' homosexuality. How very interesting.

Somehow, that's not very surprising. People who create chaos on a daily basis would have to find out about Discordianism sooner or later.

That's why I'm only a part-time Discordian, because if I were to give myself wholly to Chaos, I'd go insane (naturally.) ad would have to impose order somewhere so that I could function.

Thanks for sharing... Great article. I could rant about it for ages I think... I feel sorry for that boy, Randy, and for all the people who can't be themselves cause of their religion.

I know quite a few people who wrestle with that conundrum daily. I worry for the people that can't find some sort of resolution to that problem.

*nods* how can two religions every get together friendly if people can't get together with their own religion? (I hope I didn't say this too confusing...)

Half the fun of religion is subscribinig to an interpretation or breaking away from that interpretation. So if one cannot find an interpretation that is congenial to one's disposition and one does not wish to attempt to build an interpretation of their own (or is forbidden from doing so), problems result. Then the problems between religions develop when one person puts their interpretation on another person and judges them for it. If the person being judged has a different interpretation... well, it can get interesting.
