And now things get interesting.
Aug. 23rd, 2004 11:27 pmWell, today was training day number one. Unfortunately, about three-quarters of the way through it, we found out that our new staff members couldn't be new staff members because one of the management people had declared a hiring freeze and neglected to tell anybody. Our new person took it with good grace as best as we can tell, but I would be surprised if he was more than a little cheesed at this whole thing. So I go back in tomorrow for training bout number two, then take one more shift on Wednesday, and it's off to band week. Let the games begin.
On an unrelated but interesting note, I think I might take up the challenge of a PFF once again. The problem is, I know there's already one running (Jacob's Ladder) which is running along the same sort of lines that I would be writing mine about. Plus, with school getting geared up to start, I'll have a few things to take care of. Here's hoping I don't go insane before my schooling starts.
Reminder to self. Do as much of the graduate schooling applications as you can now, so that the rest is just filling things in.

Date: 2004-08-24 11:21 am (UTC)I wouldn't worry about that - for one, there are way too few PFFs or fanfics right now (I excuse myself because my writing is crap) and even if it is close to JL it'll be interesting. I say go for it :)
And I found it helped to just go insane at the first opportunity. Saved effort in the long run.
Well...
