Fed and watered, thus sated
Jan. 29th, 2006 12:58 amFirst, to those who celebrate - Xin Nian Kwai Le (although that may not be a perfect rendering.) In the spirit of things, I did receive a red envelope today, and I hope that it will bring me luck and propsperity in the next year.
greyweirdo makes excellent chili. It is well worth the price of the gasoline just to eat the food he generously offers. And then the companionship from his friends and house members makes it even more worth it. They zip high-level jokes back and forth, and everyone keeps up and one-ups where they can. Political infuriations, religious insanities, the pseudo-feminism of Charmed and Buffy the Vampire Slayer, stories of coasters and cars, and all sorts of other things. It's a lot of fun to hang out with that crowd. Oh, and I've become the new keeper of THE BOX and its contents. A very generous gift, and most of those books, I will put to use in my personal library. Which means...
uncle_pervy, I think I have some movies for you, if you want them. Either way, this is a good thing for me, making it a good day.
przxqgl gets a Democrat's response to an inquiry about impeachment and investigations (his inquiry, perhaps?). If this is the standard response, I'm asking for a no-confidence vote in the government. Dissolve, hold new elections for President, House, and Senate, try again.
Say what you like about this article. It's been painted as a judge acting on his own personal involvement and punishing these people too severely - also a testament to the stupidity of taking pictures of yourself engaging in illegal activities and posting them. Both parties are quite possibly at fault here - the judge's behavior does seem rather toolish, but flagrantly provoking him is probably not a good idea, either. Here's the article: Criminals? Or just having fun? Make your own decisions.
