So.

Today has been interesting. The guys over at DRT decided today was a squirrel day. Considering Ann Arbor has a few good squirrel jokes of its own, this is particularly funny to me. Especially when there's a Foamy rant involved. So that's that.

Then, as I cruise along my friends list, it turns out that lordmork has put up some poignant pieces of prose. Politically inclined, perhaps. The first is about the training of tradesmen to recognize signs that they're in a terrorist's home. I'm just waiting to see what happens when someone gets accused of it because someone left their copy of 2600 that they borrowed lying around. I certainly hope the stink is legendary.

The second, about this gem of a misstep - This site, and the associated pdf linked. Some of those acronyms are definitely people smoking weed things. <Go read the comments on this one, especially rimspace's. The Internet is not full of evil predator-types who are just waiting to trap unsuspecting children. Most of us are civilized beings. Parents need to keep an eye out for problems, but also need to give their child the freedom to explore the net.

Oh... what was I doing today? Not a whole lot. I got convinced by tustsujigirl to go join another RP community based on Final Fantasy characters. I'm not sure whether I should be speaking its name to anyone yet, so I'll refrain, but if I get the green light, they could use some players, so those of you interested in that sort of thing may need to pay attention to a later entry.

Ever so slightly, I'm bored. Which means generally that I'll be falling asleep fairly soon. However, that means things are not going well. I should not be bored, but I am. Of course, my settling into the routine is probably a good part of this. So I should shake things up tomorrow - read myself a book or something. Or finish any of the books I might have lying around that I've started. Sounds like an idea - I'll try it tomorrow.

Band week approaches. Soon I shall have the company of my section-mates and band-mates as well as the aggravation of our Director. Plus, that means I have lecture and homework to keep me occupied. Depending on your viewpoint, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Either way, it will be. Maybe this is the year that I actually feel social enough to do more stuff than what I usually do. Who knows what will happen - other than I need to scheme who I want to have writing letters on my behalf for getting into Graduate School. Especially with those packages being due at the beginning of the year. So my application self, along with my thesis-self go into high-gear once the semester starts. (Although I'm still a little bit at a loss on what to do about my thesis topic.)

Anyway, that's pointless rambling. Possibly useful, but pointless. So, I think that I'm going to drop into bed and go to sleep. Perhaps all the ideas are just underneath my conscious mind and I need to be quick enough to catch them before they flitter away.
