Not much to report from here, as it was a pretty uninteresting day, other than my checking out an inordinately large amount of books today. And there is that bit about the Zone.
You, see, the Zone is a monster. In fact, I could say pretty safely that we've "unleashed the monster" (in-section joke) in this regard. It's what happens when a bunch of section-people, in addition to the volleyball band, decide to cheer in our usual style - loud, somewhat crude, but well-organized. This year, a lot of bones came to the volleyball games. Enough that we became a presence. And a noticeable one at that. The volleyball team's doing extremely well this year, and apparently our energy and cheer is responsible for at least some of it.
Enter the coach We've been fairly consistent in appearance, so the coach offers to make us into an "official" section, and gets us both a banner and shirts. We just needed a name. Thus, the Zone, the place of the after-practice section meeting, is something good enough to work here. The shirts, then, that we received, say "Bones in the Zone." the phrase we use to indicate our congregation in said area. It's nice.
So, tonight, the Zone came out in force against the in-state rivals. We're apparently getting some good press about ourselves by being ourselves. Thus, I'd say we've unleashed the monster. Who knows how this will turn out. We're popular with both the players and the coaches, (enough so, that even one of the players has joined in on a few of our cheers) and we seem to be getting in the heads of our opponents, from what we hear.
But neither of those is particularly important. The books thing is just so that I can go find other books that will really be helpful to me. So I'm getting a little serious about my thesis. So what?
