Football Saturday, and nowhere to go.
Sep. 1st, 2007 11:28 amThere's a game going on in Ann Arbor right now, and I have no idea where I could watch it. According to the limited tracker access that I have, even now, the team is getting their butts handed to them by the Division I-AA champions from last year. Could be a long year for the crew in Ann Arbor if this is the trend, rather than the exception. From my inside sources, the defence has a rather sieve-like mentality, and there's a mobile quarterback, two things that are University of Michigan problems through much of time. As usual, doing my daily Internet ration. Have also met my co-worker today, as she was back from vacation today. I think this is going to be an excellent job. Everything happens on Tuesday, as usual. I'll keep myself busy until then, of course. There's probably a lot to do here.
Just one link for today - Iraqi insurgents line their pockets with contractor gold. Which makes a certain amount of sense, considering the stability of the region at the moment.
Anyway, I do have things that will keep me occupied and meeting people today, and possibly keep me well-occupied for the rest of the weekend. That's the hope, anyway. Maybe on Monday, my thumb will be good enough to do a little bowling or something.

Date: 2007-09-05 04:25 am (UTC)As for the fans, it's not "fair-weathered." It's expectations. Michigan gets great prospective players, has great coaches and has a pedigree of winning when it mattered most & going all the way. I'll still watch U of M games & hope they do great for the rest of the season but the fact of them being beaten by a team that was in a lower division is just a slap in the face that'll sting for quite a while.

Date: 2007-09-05 04:30 am (UTC)Joe Pa is amazing. He's also really fun to talk to with that nice brooklyn accent :) Reminded me of my grandfather.
I heard from one of my friends who still goes to all the PSU games that there was a HUGE turnout for paternoville the night before the game this past weekend for him :)
